Cassells National Library

Cassells National library

Recently we were lucky enough to briefly own this library. Cassell put out 208 little 12mo books in wide ranging subjects. Dickens, Shakespeare, Samuel Pepys, Goethe, Voyages to Australia to name a few. They started the set in 1886 and finished it 1890. The library itself rotated perfectly – a great piece of workmanship. It was sad to see it go but it was clearly going to a home to be loved and appreciated. One of our customers had seen a set in Charring Cross Rd, London about 10 years ago.
